~GULLIBLE PEOPLE--MYSELF INCLUDED~

June 22, 2004,8:00 p.m.

On MINDMISTRESS, where I have a new page Latest Thoughts:

Ahhhh....weren't expecting that last panel, were you?

Don't kid yourself.

She's still in trouble.

Featured link:

THE CROW---no, not that one. Mysticism and Sky Goddesses, werewolves and understanding the speech of crows, demons and urban life. Excellent art in color, intriguing story.

Marine of SEA/SKY sent me two wonderful manga fan art wallpapers to use on your computer...one is one of LORELEI/MM, showing the two sides to her, and one is of her favorite character, VICKI.

If you want to know when I update---although I've been aiming for Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays...you can go to COMIC ALERT and sign up to see when Mindmistress...and many other webcomics...update.

 Okay.

I can believe in the German kid who evidently has twice as much muscle mass as a normal kid, eveidently due to a mutation. That I can believe.

Very X-Men-ish, but I'll buy that.

But I don't believe a woman gave birth to a frog with human characteristics. No. Way. Genetics doesn't work that way.

Nor do I believe the tadpole/ whatever would exist long enough to become a frog without being expelled.

There is no end to people's gullibility. From the Fox Sisters who started the modern Spiritualist movement, for having the unique ability to snap their toes, to pictures of fairies that deceived the creator of Sherlock Holmes.

But this is bogus.

Speaking of gullible people, I'm glad to see a glimmer of sense, politically, and that The Green Party wisely rejected Nadar as their candidate....that makes it much more an uphill battle for Nader. I remember some people---people I once repsected---saying that it wasn't "throwing away" their vote to vote for Nader.

Um.

One neddless Iraqi occupation later, that claim looks a little hollow....

Nadar has been swallowed in his own self-deception. I think he honestly believes he will draw more voters away from conservatives than liberals. And anybody who is so blind to political relities as that...will never get my endorsement. I just hope Kerry picks someone good as v.p.

I was happy to see a glimmer of planning and sense in the latest move in Iraq, where we handed over the reins of the government a few days early...at the request of the leader of the Iraqi government. That gives me some faith in him, if not in the Amreican occupation, and argues he's fairly canny.

It's the smartest move I've seen since the Iraqi occupation, and gives me hope that somebody is thinking, and thinking well.

I hope this is a growing trend, and not a fluke...

And NATO will be involved in the training of the Iraqis.

Maybe, just maybe, things are looking up...

Maybe people won't be gullible enough to swallow everything Wolfowicz and others say...

Feeling particularly gullible about how many things I can balance at one time, I'm now the new Interviews editor at COMIXPEDIA. There's no one so gullible, as Ralph Nader showed, in those who have an unjustified confidence in themselves....

So I have a job, a wife, an autistic son that I want to take swimming in the evening, this journal, a webcomic, etc....

So of course I said yes.

Is it gullibility, or a death wish?

We'll see...
